Distell links up with Waverley TSB

Published:  23 July, 2008

South African producer Distell has signed a deal with distribution giant WaverleyTBS to represent it in the UK on-trade and selected off-trade accounts.

The Nederburg, Drostdy-Hof, Fleur du Cap and Plaisir de Merle are the focus of the partnership. Distell's Durbanville Hills will continue to be distributed by Brown-Forman. The Oracle and Obikwa wines listed in Oddbins will not be part of either package.

Gary Greenfield, managing director of Distell Europe, said: We have worked hard to appoint the right people and business partners, and as a dedicated team we are already starting to see growth in sales.

The new relationship with WaverleyTBS represents an important step to drive distribution in both the on-trade and the off-trade for the Distell wine portfolio, especially focus brands such as Nederburg.'

Distell Europe has moved to a new office in Hampton Hill, Middlesex, from where its UK and European distribution partnerships will be managed.

Distell has announced it has secured a listing for Nederburg in Waitrose stores from October, building on the existing distribution in Morrisons.
