London Wine Fair launches pop-up tastings for 2016

Published:  22 January, 2016

The London Wine Fair returns for its 36th annual show this year with the addition of a new pop-up tastings area.

The area will be situated at the front of the Grand Hall, and will be available for booking by companies and organisations not exhibiting at the event.

The space will be flexible enough to accommodate seating for 80 for a masterclass or standing room for 200 visitors at a free-pour tasting.

Sessions are priced at £2,500 per hour, which includes all tasting facilities such as glassware, spittoons, A/V equipment and staff.

Half-day slots are also available at a reduced hourly rate.

Spaces are limited, and both Napa Valley Vintners and Wine Australia have already booked a series of tastings.

Ross Carter, LWF show director, said: "This new feature will add to the breadth and sense of discovery so important to the fair.  Content sessions have, in the past, been restricted to those exhibiting, but we have always had requests for companies wishing to participate in a very specific way for a short period of time, so we felt a more flexible pop-up space would be a perfect solution."

Alongside the innovative pop-up space, the London Wine Fair will continue to feature its popular masterclasses, industry briefings and Speakers' Corner sessions.

The 36th London Wine Fair will run from May 3 to 5 at London's Kensington Olympia.
