Austria is one of the few countries that drinks more of its own wine than it exports, meaning that until recently, all consumers saw were high-end examples poured by sommeliers. But ANTHONY ROSE says the trend away from cheap and cheerless' wines has helped Austria flaunt its Rieslings and Grner Veltliners in the UK.
