Frizzenti expands wine-on-tap range

Published:  09 November, 2015

Frizzenti, the supplier of wine on tap to the on-trade, has added nine new wines to its range.

Sourced from France, Germany and Portugal the new whites are Bourdeaux Blanc, Riesling, Pinot Grigio Dry Rheinhessen and Sauvignon Blanc.

The Reds added to the range are Rosso Toscano, Bourdeaux Rouge, Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, Touriga Nacional.

Frizzenti was the first UK company to offer wine on tap. It launched with an Italian sparkling wine in 2007.

The company introduced still wines to its list earlier this year, adding a Pinot Grigio, Cabernet Merlot and a Merlot Rosé.

Frizzenti has worked with a Master of Wine to develop a range that is both good quality, affordable and suitable for high sales volumes.

Frizzenti co-founder Daniel Spinath said: "There is definitely a move in the UK towards buying wine by the glass which is why we have extended our range of still wines in keg.

"One misconception we're overcoming is that wines served on tap will be poor quality. Of course kegs are not suitable for wines that need to be aged in the bottle, but around 90 per cent of wines produced are made to be drunk young and it is these that are perfect for kegs.

"We have worked with a wine expert to develop our range and believe that we now have the best selection of on-tap wines in the UK for the pub, bar and high-street restaurant sectors.

"It's not just quality and convenience though. There is definitely an underswell of support for the environmental benefits of wine on tap which will surely only grow as a greener generation of drinkers step up to the bar."
