Bodega Argento and Bodega Garzón partner with Latin American St Pancras pop-up

Published:  31 March, 2016

Premium South American wine estates Bodega Argento from Argentina and Uruguay's Bodega Garzón have partnered with newly-launched Latin American pop-up restuarant Una on a series of exclusive supper clubs in the clock tower of London's St Pancras Hotel.

The concept behind Una is to take one table of twelve guests each night on a tour of the continent that showcases its rich and varied gastronomies, accompanied by expertly paired wines from two of the region's leading producers.

Una is the brainchild of leading Argentinian chef Martin Milesi, who founded the Raíz restaurant in Buenos Aires and lectures on the gastronomical history of Argentina and Latin America.

Milesi has worked as a chef in Brazil and Uruguay, as well as Argentina, and a number of European countries including the UK.

The six-dish tasting menu includes an amouse-bouche of cassava croquette, black pudding, raw cauliflower, water blossom and red soil paired with Argento Malbec Rosé; an escabeche of seasonal vegetables, anchovies and green gazpacho paired with Garzón Albariño; and Argentine grass-fed beef, white truffle spaghetti, red chard grille, merken sauce, and tortilla soil paired with Esquinas de Argento Malbec.

Milesi said: "We're really excited to be partnering with two such great names from South America - Bodega Argento and Bodega Garzón.

"As we only set-up one table within St. Pancras Clock Tower, we have the opportunity to talk with our 12 guests and we really enjoy promoting our roots with Londoners.

"The wines, paired with my dishes, will help create an exclusive gastronomical experience for each and every guest, inspired by the rich cultural diversity of Latin America.

"The freshness and versatility of the wines really complement my food and the setting is just perfect."

Gustavo Crespo, managing sirector at Blends Wine Estates UK, which owns both Bodega Argento and Bodega Garzón, said: "We're delighted to be partnering with UNA on this really exciting project at the iconic St Pancras.

"South American food and wine is so popular now in the UK and we're delighted to be able to team up with one of South America's top chefs to showcase the undiscovered flavours of Latin America.

"The wines from both Argento and Garzón demonstrate the diversity and true reflection of the countries and are perfectly paired to the dishes of Martin Milesi."

The UNA Supper Club pop-up will run until the end of 2016, at £95 per ticket. To find out more or purchase tickets, visit the website here.
