Huddersfield-based importer and distributor CWF is extending its light British wine brand Silver Bay Point with a new sparkling format.

Silver Bay Point Lightly Sparkling will be available in the on-trade in two variants - a white and a rosé, both with an abv of 5.5%.

It is aimed at 25 to 45-year-old women who want to "enjoy some 'fizz' wine while allowing their finances to stretch further and keep a check on their alcohol consumption levels", according to CWF, who recommends that licensees sell a 75cl bottle for £7.

Marketing manager Vicky Lee said: "The success of Silver Bay Point has demonstrated that there is clear consumer demand for high quality, attractively packaged low alcohol wines that provide better than average value for money.

"The effects of the recession continue to bite across all walks of life, but our research has demonstrated that consumers still want to enjoy themselves without compromising their finances on their drinks of choice."

Silver Bay Point is produced from imported grape juice and sports New World-style packaging.
