according to Interbrand
Interbrand, which claims to be the world's leading branding consultancy, has published its annual survey of the world's most valuable brands. It shows that alcohol brands are the fifth largest growth sector, with four of the top ten growth brands - Smirnoff, Johnnie Walker, Jack Daniel's, and Guinness. Number one brand is Coca-Cola, followed by Microsoft, with Budweiser at 26 - the most valuable alcohol brand. Further down are: Bacardi (75), Smirnoff (78), Mot & Chandon (79), Heineken (82), Johnnie Walker (89), Absolut (93), Guinness (94), and Carlsberg (97). Interbrand reports that Mot has lost 12% of its brand value, which is probably due to the "Millennium effect".
