Juvé & Camps receives organic certification

Published:  22 October, 2018

Juvé & Camps has received organic certification following a three-year process of converting the vineyards to organic viticulture.

From the 2015 vintage onwards, all the Cavas and wines from the Penedès producer will be 100% organic, with its flagship Reserva de la Familia cava the first organic vintage to be unveiled. This will be followed by the winery’s complete wine portfolio.

The move to organic production formed part of Juvé & Camps strategy to continue to evolve to “take the wines in a new, better and more conscientious direction”, said the family winery.

“Caring about and safeguarding every stage of the winemaking process is our guiding principle, with hand-harvesting and artisanal winemaking integral aspects of our estate's organic vineyards,” it said.

The winery had embraced a sustainable production model that respected the environment at every stage of the vinification and winemaking process, it added.

“From picking to pressing, Juvé & Camps treats each and every variety with utmost care to guarantee highly expressive Cavas and wines, better-quality products for the consumer, and a deep commitment to and respect for nature.”

Claiming to be the leader in the production of Cava Gran Reserva, Juvé & Camps has been dedicated to viticulture for centuries and has 271 hectares of 100% organic vineyards

From its underground cellars of the Sant Sadurní d'Anoia winery, the company produces brands such as Juvé & Camps La Capella, Gran Juvé & Camps and Milesimé, with Cava cuvées and white wines produced in its Espiells modern wine cellar.
