Litmus Wines has teamed up with Bibendum to distribute its English wines to the on-trade.
Litmus, based at the Denbies estate in Dorking, has taken on the distributor to supply its range of Litmus branded English still wines.
The range consists of Orange Bacchus, White Pinot Noir, Red Pinot Noir and Element 20, the first Litmus wine which is named after the 20th element in the periodic table, calcium.
Jamie Avenell, Bibendum’s buyer in charge of England, said the range is already “served in many of the finest hotels and restaurants” and will continue to push this strategy going forward.
Winemaking at Litmus under John Worontschak depends heavily on older French oak barriques, careful lees management and low So2 regimes.
Litmus was established in 2008 and is owned and operated by Worontschak, Mike Florence and Matthieu Elzinga.
Its logo references historic calcium deposits found on the South Downs.
Wines retail between £15 to £30 per bottle and are availble to the on-trade via Bibendum.
