First rum festival to launch in Manchester

Published:  06 January, 2017

Manchester is to host its first city-wide rum festival, run by event curator and drinks consultant, Dave Marsland, also known as the Drinks Enthusiast.

The Manchester Rum Festival will be held on Saturday, June 3. Visitors will be able to sample some 40 varieties of rum accompanied by Caribbean food and music.

The event will be built around a central hub, which will be open from 12am to 5pm. Rum brunch will be available at a range of cafés around the city from 9am, and the day will end with a choice of after-parties once the main venue closes.

Tickets will cost £15 and will include the price of a welcome drink.

The festival has a strong line up of exhibitors confirmed already, including Skipper, Chairman's Reserve, Pusser's, El Ron Prohibido, La Hechicera and Ron Matusalem - as well as Japan's Ryoma. Other brands are expected to be added soon.
