The Borsa Vini Italiani tasting, which takes place in Manchester and London this week, will offer visitors the opportunity to discover wines from a range of less well-known Southern Italian wine regions, including Campania, Puglia, Calabria and Sicily.
Peter McCombie MW will be presenting an exclusive masterclass, 'New Discoveries from Italy's Mezzogiorno', at both events.
McCombie said: "The southern part of Italy is too often neglected as a potential source of high-quality wines.
"Italy's plethora of legal grape varieties can be a source of excitement, but too often consumers and even professionals find the choice too much.
"For our New Discoveries from the Mezzogiorno tasting we have chosen some lesser known but high-quality grape varieties to show that wines of real character and drinkability can be found not just in the glamour zones of Tuscany and Piedmont but in the deep south too."
The London tasting will also see chef Carmelo Carnevale preparing a zabaione, and discussing food-and-wine matching with a sommelier.
Both the masterclass and the cooking demonstration require pre-registration.

The Manchester tasting takes place today at Manchester Town Hall.
The London tasting is on Thursday, January 21 at the Sheraton Park Lane in Piccadilly.
