Invivo drives international expansion with Boardman hire

New Zealand winery Invivo Wines has appointed Mark Boardman to the new role of international sales manager.

Boardman joins the company with some 20 years of experience in the wine trade. Previous roles include sales manager at Mr Riggs in Australia and Codorníu Raventós.

Codorníu Raventós has been the UK and Ireland distributor for Invivo since 2011.

Boardman will be working out of Invivo's new international office in Adelaide.

Invivo was founded in 2008 by Rob Cameron and Tim Lightbourne. It has previously been named Emerging Exporter of the Year and featured in Deloitte's Fast 50 New Zealand companies.

The company has grown by 200% since 2011 and saw sales rise to £2.2 million in the year to March 21 2015.

It is aiming to hit annual turnover of £11 million by 2020.

Earlier this year, Invivo raised some £880,000 through crowdfunding - a record for New Zealand.

The 439 new investors now share a 20% stake in the business, which is valued at £4.4 million.

The capital injection has helped drive Invivo's international expansion, of which the new international office in Adelaide and the appointment of Boardman are a part.

Invivo is currently available in 17 countries around the world.
