Crus Bourgeois du Médoc to reveal Official Selection at London event

Published:  18 September, 2015

The UK trade will have its first opportunity to taste the Official Selection of the Crus Bourgeois du Médoc's 2013 vintage next week.

The wines chosen from Médoc's eight prestigious AOCs - Médoc, Haut-Médoc, Listrac-Médoc, Moulis, Margaux, Saint Julien, Pauillac and Saint Estèphe - will be revealed on Tuesday with the UK trade tasting two days later at the British Academy in London.

The Official Selection of the Crus Bourgeois du Médoc is designed to establish a vintage-after-vintage guarantee of quality, based on rigorous specifications overseen by an independent body to ensure impartiality.

Bottles named in the selection are authenticated with a sticker guaranteeing the quality of the wines and a QR code to enable consumers to easily identify Cru Bourgeois wines.

The system is also designed to bring stability to prices, even in outstanding vintages.

The Cru Bourgeois du Médoc Official Selection system was launched with the release of the 2008 vintage and, on average, 250 wines have been awarded Cru Bourgeois status each year since.

The London tasting is on Thursday, September 24. Trade registration is via phillips-hill.co.uk/crusbourgeoistasting or Jo Thompson on 07909 522797 and jo@bellevillemarketing.com.
