BrewDog which continues to dominate the UK craft beer scene is opening its seventh bar this year and 15th bar in the UK, called DogTap at its headquarters in Aberdeenshire.
The opening of the on-site-tap-room DogTap is a result of the £5 million expansion the brewer made to its headquarter offices and brewery. This bar is different to other BrewDog establishments as the expansion allowed for the installation of a visitor centre and a 10hl pilot brewing system that will help in product development and interactive brewing. Food will also be served courtesy of Pieminister, which will feature pies made with BrewDog ales.
The site will also have a shop similar to that of the BottleDog shop that was opened near King's Cross in London in April. BottleDog was the first of a confirmed number of bottle shops in 2014 that BrewDog planned on opening.
DogTap will be the 20th bar that BrewDog has opened in just four years since its unconventional launch using crowdfunding to help fund the business.
The maverick brewery continues to expand at an unbelievable rate opening seven bars in 2014. BrewDog is already looking at a second bar location in Glasgow as well as new locations in Brighton, Liverpool and Cardiff.
Outside of the UK, BrewDog has ambitions for global expansion as well looking to open bars in Rome, Bologna, Helsinki and Berlin.
To visit the visitor centre for tours or tastings email BrewDog. DogTap will be open from 12pm-9pm daily.
