Bacardi Brown-Forman has announced the next stage of its 'Whatever's Comfortable' ad campaign for Southern Comfort in the UK.
Bacardi Brown-Forman has announced the next stage of its 'Whatever's Comfortable' ad campaign for Southern Comfort in the UK.
Set to run on television screens for 16 weeks from the start of September, the ads will feature a moustachioed man in a salon getting his long hair washed and attracting attention from a female onlooker.
Bacardi Brown-Forman has upped its brand spend by an undisclosed amount for the second stage of the campaign, which follows in a similar comedic vein to its previous ad showing an overweight, moustachioed man in speedos striding confidently across a beach.
The campaign has been credited with prompting a revival in Southern Comfort sales, particularly among the brand's core audience of young adults up to the age of 24.
Alongside the new advert, BBF will also push its new flavoured variant, Southern Comfort Bold Black Cherry, as a perfect serve with cola.
Southern Comfort's marketing manager Gwen Ridsdale said: "Along with the advertising creative, our flavoured variants have helped to drive relevancy among a younger demographic of drinkers.
"We are confident the activity will help drive frequency of consumption ahead of the peak Christmas trading period."
BBF will support the new television advert with a full through-the-line marketing strategy, including digital and consumer PR activity.
