London's Ibérica is to receive the Marques de Busianos award from the Real Academia de Gastronomia for bringing Spanish gastronomy to the world.

The Spanish gastronomy organisation, Real Academia de Gastronomia, has unveiled the awards for the best in gastronomy 2011.

Also being recognised are Martin Berasategui for Best Spanish Restaurateur, French chef and restaurateur Joel Robouchon for his promotion of Spanish wines and Julio Blanco for Best Pastry Chef.

Managing director of Ibérica restaurants, Marcos Fernandez Pardo, said: "It has always been our aim to be London's outpost for authentic Spanish cuisine and showcase the quality and variety of products Spain has to offer, so to be recognised by the Real Academia de Gastronomia for our contribution in bringing Spanish gastronomy to the world is an incredible honour."

Ibérica opened its second site in Canary Wharf in 2011 and its head chef Nacho Manzano holds two Michelin stars at his mountain restaurant, Casa Marcial, in Asturias, Spain.

One of Ibérica's unique features is its Wine Custody Service: members can buy exclusively sourced wines to store in its professional wine cellar and either enjoy their purchases in the restaurant for a nominal corkage fee, or take them away to drink at home.
