Liberty Wines to double warehouse space

Published:  03 October, 2011

Liberty Wines is set to double its warehouse space with the development of a new site in southwest London.

The firm has bought a brown field site off Clapham High Street, and will design and construct purpose-built premises that will be 2,800 square metres in size. The new building will house a temperature-controlled warehouse, an open-plan office and dedicated rooms for tastings and events.

Liberty's managing director, David Gleave MW, said: "Liberty is having its best year ever, with half year results well ahead of both last year and this year's budget. We remain optimistic about the company's prospects for expansion for the future, which has led to our decision to undertake such a long-term investment.

"The new site will enable us to improve not only the service we offer our customers but also the storage for our wines and the working environment for our employees."

Construction is due to commence in early October 2011, to be completed by summer 2012.
