Former Plumpton students launch SparklingEnglishWine.com

Published:  20 July, 2011

A website for English sparkling wine has been launched that aims to sell wines from vineyards direct to consumers and trade.

Website, SparklingEnglishWine.com is the brainchild of three former students of viticulture and winemaking at Plumpton College.

Jeremy Cook, Tom Jones and Tim Wills, have combined their expertise in wine sales, production and internet business management to set up the online business model.

Managing director Cook says: "The concept helps customers take on new and exciting wines from lesser known producers, as well as top brands."

He adds the range of wines allows buyers to be assured that even if their preferred wine is out of stock, owing to limited availability from producers, there will always be replacement wines of equal quality at hand.

"It also allows for regular wine of the month promotions to be implemented with different producers," he says.

The site aims to provide regularly updated news, photographs and videos so buyers can connect with the story of the producers and better understand and appreciate what they are selling on to the end consumer.
