Ian Macleod Distillers acquires Tamdhu Distillery from Highland Distillers

Published:  05 July, 2011

Ian Macleod Distillers Ltd, owners of the Glengoyne Highland single malt brand, has acquired Tamdhu Distillery from Highland Distillers in a deal worth £35 million.

The funding package from the Royal Bank of Scotland will enable Ian Macleod Distillers to re-open the Tamdhu Distillery, creating a number of new jobs in Speyside.

Mike Younger, finance director, Ian Macleod Distillers, said: "As a whisky distiller, we inevitably hold large values of stock whilst it matures. The team at RBS understood our requirements and have been able to build an attractive and tailor-made funding package which that will help us to continue to grow our business."
