US sales grew by 24%, and key markets such as Russia (+8%), South Africa (+7%), France (+7%) and UK (+4%) have also added to the brand's growth.

Thierry Billot, managing director brands, Pernod Ricard, said: "The continuous growth of Jameson since its acquisition in 1988 is the perfect example for Pernod Ricard's ability to develop global Premium brands. This success is the result of a long-term strategy applied to all our strategic brands, based on: premiumisation and innovation, sustained by a strong and constant marketing, executed with excellence by the power of our own commercial network".

Jameson was acquired by Pernod Ricard from Irish Distillers in 1988, when it was selling 115,000 cases a year.
