Trade welcomes #winedealfriday
The inaugural #winedealfriday ? an initiative from Harpers Wine & Spirit putting independents in the UK on and off trades in touch with suppliers to secure special wine deals on Twitter ? has been welcomed by the trade.
Jancis Robinson MW advised her 46,000 followers to check out the deals, while Warren Adamson (@kiwiwazza), European market director at New Zealand's Craggy Range, tweeted: "Great idea #winedealfriday".
De Bortoli was one of the first to posta deal: "De Bortoli imports The Accomplice wine solely for UK independents. For every 12 cases you buy get 1 free #winedealfriday Call 01725516467".
John Thorne, UK manager for De Bortoli, said: "We created a Twitter account and Facebook profile for the Accomplice brand, to give this new brand a bit of personality. We thought #winedealfriday would work perfectly with that."
