On-trade exclusives from Grignon

Published:  03 March, 2010

Languedoc producer LGI-Alain Grignon Wines has launched a range of wines in the UK aimed specifically at the on-trade.

Rare Vineyards comes in Carignan, Malbec and Pinot Noir styles and is available exclusively through Matthew Clark.

UK manager Peter Crameri said: "Carignan is usually found as a component in a blend, while Malbec and Pinot Noir are associated with other French wine producing regions. We have found parcels of vineyards in the Languedoc producing excellent examples of each of these grapes, and the story of these 'Rare Vineyards' is told on the front label."

The Vielles Vignes Carignan comes from a 40 year old vineyard in the Pays d'Hérault while fruit for the Malbec is sourced from vineyards near Béziers and for the Pinot Noir from Limoux near the foothills of the Pyrenees.
