Atkin moves to The Times

Tim Atkin MW is leaving the Observer Magazine after 17 years, after his weekly column was slashed to just two paragraphs.
He is moving to the Times on March 4 for the launch issue of a new weekly food and drink section.
"My new column will run to around 950 words and will include a main, 700-word story as well as half a dozen recommendations," he said.
"I'm extremely excited to be joining such a great team, which includes fellow writers Alex Renton and Lindsay Bareham."
Atkin said there was "more need than ever for informed, entertaining and critical wine writing and I promise to provide that".
He also thanked those who signed the Save the Wine Column campaign on Facebook.
