The Oxford Wine Company is expanding with the purchase of Bona Wines, a Gloucestershire-based wholesale company.
The take-over, which happens next February, will enable the award-winning merchant and wholesaler to expand its operations in the area.
Ted Sandbach, owner and managing director of the Oxford Wine Company said: "Jackie Wheels has owned Bona Wines for eleven years and built up a strong customer base but has been finding it hard to develop her expanding business in its current form. She will have considerably more scope to do so within the framework of a larger company.
"She brings with her great knowledge, enthusiasm and energy as well as a good deal of experience. She shares a very similar wine philosophy to us and I look forward to merging our two lists and strengthening our presence in the region."
"As a result of this expansion we have taken on more warehouse space to enable us to service the extra trade and private customer demands that this merger will bring."
The business is looking for two new staff - a warehouse assistant and a trade sales executive.
