Sainsbury's starts Christmas price war

Published:  05 November, 2009

The Christmas promotional war has started early with Sainsbury's slashing the price of its wines in a promotion that sees Charles Lafitte NV Champagne reduced from £29.99 to just £11.24.

The promotion that ends on November 10, gives 25% off purchases when you buy six or more bottles and even applies if the wine is already discounted.

Charles Lafitte NV, is already on offer at 50% off the RRP of £29.99 to £14.99. The extra 25% discount will apply once you get to the checkout. Six bottles of the Champagne will therefore cost the consumer £67.45.

The offer also means that 35 South Latitude Cabernet Merlot and Chardonnay Semillon 75cl, that normally retails at £7.99 and is already reduced by 50% to £3.99, will cost the consumer just £2.99 per bottle and £17.94 for a case of six.
