Absolut announces artistic partnership with Spike Jonze

Absolut Vodka has announced it will celebrate 30 years of its artistic creativity by launching an Absolut Art award and a new creative partnership with US filmaker Spike Jonze.

Renowned for its historic work with artists from Andy Warhol to Lenny Kravitz, the premium top selling brand has also announced it is to create the Absolut Art Collection in Stockholm Sweden, which will bring its entire creative advertising history under one roof.


Mark Hamilton, head of marketing for Vodkas at Pernod Ricard UK said: " We have always found inspiration from creativity, it is core to everything we do.


"We are very excited to now count Spike Jonze among our collaborating partners. He is one of the most influential shapers of our generation."


Israeli conceptual artist Keren Cytter has been announced as the winner of the company's inaugural art award. Chosen by a panel of judges headed by Swedish art curator Daniel Birnbaum, and coming with a grant of €15,000, Cytter will be awarded with the prize at a ceromony to be held in Stockholm.


Absolut's art collection that consists of over 800 pieces, will now be formerly housed at the Historical Museum of Wine and Spirits in Stockholm. It includes works from Andy Warhol, Keith Haring, Louise Bourgeois and Damien Hirst.
