Access to take half of Diamond Wodka

American wine and spirits producer Access Beverage has agreed to buy a 50% stake in Belgian vodka company Diamond Wodka.

American wine and spirits producer Access Beverage has agreed to buy a 50% stake in Belgian vodka company Diamond Wodka.

The Diamond brand is number three in the vodka market in Benelux, and the company also owns the Simply Raw vodka and Simply cocktails brands which hare marketed in North America.

Access already has the licensing rights for current and future Simply brands in North America.

Access ceo Jim Moeller said: "This is the right deal at the right time, particularly in the current economic climate, as historically the wine and spirit sector has achieved considerable growth during recession years."

Access owns the Le Snoot, Mardi Gras and Bee's Knees wine brands and plans to enter the Chinese, Canadian and Russian markets in the future.
