FIRST LIWSF AT EXCEL

Published:  23 July, 2008

The 2002 LIWSF was the most successful ever, according to organiser Brintex. Held in the state-of-the-art exhibition centre, ExCeL, the show was 30% bigger in terms of floor space. Visitor numbers were also up, with the gross figure of 15,493 representing an increase of 11% on last year. The net figure (visitors only) was 11,439, representing a 5% increase. Some 31% of visitors were from overseas, proof that the Fair is established as a leading trade exhibition on an international level. Show director Andrew Evans said: We are delighted that our first show at ExCeL has been so well received. The commitment from existing and new exhibitors has been fantastic and the new venue has undoubtedly taken the event to another level, ensuring that the LIWSF is the best and most professional annual trade event in the international calendar.' Enotria's Paul Henry commented, The new venue was enormously impressive and we noted a marked upturn in the quality of the people who attended, in terms of both visitors and exhibitors. The serious intention of those who attended has got to be positive.' A fully detailed audited report on the Fair will be available from Brintex from 7 June. The 2003 LIWSF will take place from 20-22 May.
