Champagne Jacquart has signed a new distribution deal with Paragon Vintners.

Champagne Jacquart has signed a new distribution deal with Paragon Vintners.

The move comes just two months after Canard-Duchene's departure from the UK distributor, following "a review of the consequences of the recent departure of the Paragon managing team".

Paragon's recently-appointed joint managing director Brian Woods, said: "The move has come much quicker than expected but we are delighted."

From September 1, Paragon will handle distribution for Jacquart Mosaïque range of Champagnes in the on-trade, cash and carry, and independent retail sectors.

PLB Wines will continue to distribute the Reims-based house's portfolio in the multiple grocery sector.

Champagne Jacquart managing director Jean-Marc Pottiez (pictured) said, "The UK is one of our best performing export markets, now accounting for 23% of total exports, and PLB is helping us make fantastic progress in the leading UK supermarkets.

He added: "We feel there is great potential in the on-trade, independent retailer and off-licence sectors. Paragon's experience and know-how will certainly enable us to take full advantage of this."

Jacquart's on-trade marketing strategy in the UK includes sponsorship of the Restaurant Show's Premier Lounge for sommeliers and VIPs, as well as its Rising Stars Trophy in association with Harpers, for young sommeliers and chef teams across the country.
