Student brand Varsity launches "crazy" student campaign

Barracuda pub group's student brand, Varsity, has launched a competition to find the "Face of Varsity" for next year's poster campaign.

Barracuda pub group's student brand, Varsity, has launched a competition to find the "Face of Varsity" for next year's poster campaign.

The competition is part of a wider campaign the chain has launched called 'Crazy, Sexy, Cool'.

The overall campaign, which has a big emphasis on online activity, is encouraging student customers of Varsity to take pictures of themselves or their friends and upload them, either by email or text, where they will be included on the Face of Varsity gallery.

Visitors to the Varsity website can view the images and vote by ranking the pictures either 'crazy', 'sexy' or 'cool'.

Six men and six women will be chosen to take part in the final where they'll be judged by a panel including a representative from a modeling agency. The winner will be rewarded with a six month modelling contract with The Casting Suite Agency.

Said Myles Doran, Barracuda's head of marketing, "In a way, it gives our 40 bars a way to refresh the offer to their customers and we are very confident that the 'Face of Varsity' will be huge hit with our customers."
