New Mont Tauch visitor centre targets wine tourism

Published:  23 July, 2008

French cooperative Mont Tauch has announced it will open its new visitor centre in July 2008.

Situated at the winery in Tuchan, the new centre will be able to accommodate large groups of 50 people and act as an education centre on the surrounding Fitou appellation.

Katie Jones, Mont Tauch marketing director, said: "We decided to build a visitor centre and offer tours and tastings as wine tourism is something that we feel is very important and works well in other countries, but France has so far lagged behind.

"We think the new centre and shop will be a great way to attract more visitors to Mont Tauch and to introduce them to our wines and the unique way of life at the cooperative."

Over 96 wines made by the Mont Tauch cooperative will be on sale at the visitor centre.
