Future Brands' chief executive retires

Published:  23 July, 2008

Steve Bellini, president and chief executive at Future Brands, has retired.

The company, which is the US sales and distribution unit for Beam Global Spirits and Wine and the Absolut Spirits Company, announced the move as part of a restructuring drive.

A Future Brands statement said Bellini was leaving to pursue personal interests but had accepted a transition role working with the company's chairman Kevin Fennessey until February 29.

Fenessey will take on greater responsibility as chairman and work with Bill Newlands, the senior vice president of US Commercial Development for Beam Global Spirits & Wine, to oversee daily operations.

He commented: "We want to thank Steve for his contributions to Future Brands over the past three years and we wish him all the best.

"We also want to welcome our new chief financial officer, Robert Hill. With several world-class brands in our stable such as Absolut Vodka, Jim Beam bourbon, Cruzan Rum and Sauza tequila, Future Brands is proud to drive the second highest spirits volume in the United States."
