Whisky tasting goes virtual

Beam Global Spirits & Wines will host an international online debate and whisky tasting for Islay single malt Scotch whisky, Laphroaig.

The "Laphroaig TasteDebate" will start at 8pm on Wednesday, November 21 hosted by an expert panel made up of Laphroaig distillery manager John Campbell, master blender Robert Hicks, and author of the Whisky Bible, Jim Murray.

The event will run for 40 minutes with a tasting of its 10 year old, Quarter Cask, 10 year old cask strength, and Sherry matured 27-year old. Before the event, participants will also have the opportunity to vote for a fifth whisky to taste.

Laphroaig marketing manager, Aileen Nicol said: "This is the first online whisky tasting to be hosted by Laphroaig, and we are hoping that many of our supporters around the globe will participate to make it one of the biggest tastings in the world.

"It provides a unique opportunity for our consumers to put questions to our panel of highly respected whisky specialists."
