YOUNG WINE WRITER AWARD

Published:  23 July, 2008

The Circle of Wine Writers and Websters International Publishers are running their Young Wine Writer Award for the second time, in 2002. The award, which aims to enable promising young writers to travel to wine regions in order to research and develop ideas for books or articles that would not otherwise have been written, is open to any wine writer under 30 who has not published a wine book and who is neither an established columnist nor a regular magazine contributor. Last year's winner, Peter Richards of Justerini & Brooks, has just returned from Catalonia. His article, which is based on this trip and focuses on the lost vineyards of northern Catalonia, will appear in a forthcoming issue of Harpers. Details of how to enter can be found at www.websters. co.uk; or contact Jo Turner on 020 7940 4714; e-mail: joturn@websters.co.uk Applications should be received by 31 January 2002. The award will be made on 29 March 2002.
