WTO investigates US complaint on Indian wine duties

The World Trade Organisation (WTO) has set-up a panel to examine India's wine and distilled spirits tariffs at the request of the United States.
Washington complained earlier this year that India imposes "excessive duties" on alcohol that violate trade rules.
The European Union, with the backing of the UK's Scottish Whisky Association has also filed a WTO dispute over the Indian import duties, which can reach 550% on distilled spirits such as whisky and 264% on wines.
