Ghostbuster wine

Published:  23 July, 2008

Actor Dan Aykroyd, star of Ghostbusters and The Blues Brothers, is to have a multi-million-pound winery opened in his name in his native Canada.

The Dan Aykroyd winery, will be situated near Lincoln, Ontario, and will showcase memorabilia from the actor's 30-year career. Toronto-based Diamond Estates Wines and Spirits are behind the project.

He said: "This is really a dream. We joked about doing a Coneheads vodka or something. I never thought that a line of wines would be a possibility."

The 6 million, 45,000 sq ft winery, which should be completed by 2008, will feature solar panels and a eco-friendly waste management.

Wines on offer will include a Chardonnay and a Cabernet/Merlot blend. "I like the big, bold, monster Bordeauxs," the actor said.
