New winemaker at Vidal

Hugh Crichton has been appointed winemaker at New Zealand's Vidal winery.

Crichton, who has been working at Vidal for two years, replaces Rod McDonald, who leaves to become a major shareholder in new project in Hawkes Bay.

Crichton has previously worked vintages at Chteau Soutard Grande Cru Class in Bordeaux, Chard Farm in Otago, Donnafugata in Italy and Milton Vineyards in Gisborne.
