Marco Pallanti, of the renowned Chianti Classico estate Castello di Ama, has been elected president of the Chianti Classico Wine Consortium following a unanimous vote last month.
Pallanti will continue the strategy initiated by the recently reunited consortium to challenge global competition
by championing the unique identity, personality and quality of Chianti Classico wines'.
Pallanti, 50, becomes the consortium's 12th president since its founding in 1924, and takes over from Vittorio Pozzes. The consortium also elected two vice presidents, Francesco Colpizzi of Castelli del Grevepesa Cooperative and Nunzio Capurso of Melini & Machiavelli).
