Bibendum is launching a new one-day training course to help customers learn more about sustainable winemaking processes.
The Mindful Winemaking course covers topics such as organic, sustainable, biodynamic and natural winemaking and has been designed to help those working in the trade to feel confident talking about these wines and enable them to use their knowledge to shape customer drinking habits.
The course had been developed on the back of consumers becoming more aware of the impact their actions are having on the environment and are shopping more consciously when it comes to food and drink, said Bibendum.
The result has been a shift in consumer mindset, demonstrated by the rising popularity of veganism, the global battle to reduce plastic, and an increasing interest in the practice of mindfulness, it added.
“The challenge we have as an industry is that these philosophies can be challenging for consumers to understand with a myriad of labelling terms and different certification bodies, each with their own intricacies of legislation,” said Julia Bailey, head of customer training at Bibendum.
The first Mindful Winemaking Course will be held by Bibendum on Wednesday 24 October at the business’ Head Office.
