Pernod Ricard has renewed its long-standing partnership with Wincanton in the UK.
Having gone through a long tender process, the world number two in wines and spirits has renewed its warehousing and logistics contract with Wincanton - the UK’s largest logistics company.
The six-year contract builds on the relationship between the two companies which began in 1999 – and will bring the total collaboration time to 24 years.
The contract renewal includes warehousing at an HMRC-approved bonded site and transport solutions for key UK customer deliveries.
Michael Taylor, operations director at Pernod Ricard UK, said: “After a long tender process, we are pleased our long-term partner Wincanton offered us the best solution for professional, cost-effective and innovative warehousing and logistic services, which is something we continually evaluate to ensure efficiency for us and our customers”.
Liam McElroy, MD of retail & consumer at Wincanton, added: ““Having worked with the company for a significant period of time now, we were keen to demonstrate how we could add further value for Pernod Ricard UK. We look forward to being able to realise our ambition to become leaders in the digitised supply chain and deliver significant short and long-term benefits to our customers.”
The producer of Absolut and Campo Viejo is second only behind Diageo as the world’s largest producer of wines and spirits, totalling group sales of €9,010m in 2016/2017.
