Buckingham Schenk has appointed former Conviviality employee Emily Brighton to the role of technical manager.
Brighton, who held a variety of roles within the technical team at Conviviality, takes on her new position with immediate effect, following in the footsteps of David Matthews who has retired after 14 years with the business.
In her new role, Brighton works alongside Buckingham Schenk’s other technical manager, Rob Brien.
Brighton’s experience and skills made her the ideal candidate to work with the "challenges and demands" of Buckingham Schenk’s growing portfolio, said MD, Craig Durham.
“We are confident that as part of our technical team Emily will help deliver the impeccable service that our customers always expect from Buckingham Schenk,” he said, adding he would like to thank David for his “14 illustrious years of invaluable and unique” contribution to the company.
Prior to her stint with Conviviality, Brighton worked for The Wine Reserve and Majestic Wine, and she has just passed her WSET Diploma.
Brighton said she was “delighted” to be given the opportunity to work at such a “dynamic and respected” company.
“Buckingham Schenk is widely recognised as one of the country’s leading wine importers and I am particularly looking forward to working with its established customer base and its range of great producers.”
Last week, Buckingham Schenk revealed its second joint venture with Hervé and Diane Joyaux Fabre in the shape of Latis – a new brand comprising a Reserve Malbec and Latis Grande Reserve Malbec - launched in response to the growing trend for Malbec and wines from Cahors.
Its first partnership with the duo, Viñalba, was launched in 2007 and is now sold in 12 countries worldwide.
