ProWein branches out with new Japanese partnership

Published:  06 December, 2017

ProWein is stepping up its presence in Japan by partnering with Foodex – the country’s biggest food and beverage trade fair.

Following on from the recent news that the Japanese government will be one of the newcomers to exhibit at ProWein 2018 in Düsseldorf where they will have a stand promoting sake, ProWein is making further steps to target the Japanese market.

The new partnership with Foodex from 6 to 9 March 2018 will feature a ProWein section alongside a section dedicated to Champagne.

The ProWein Lounge will have information about the international trade fair for wines and spirits, while the Champagne Lounge will represent selected Champagne manufacturers including Champagne Delphine Révillon, Champagne Vollereaux, Champagne Bergère and Champagne Aspasie.

Japan Management Association which organises Foodex and Messe Düsseldorf which runs ProWein said the partnership aims to enrich the wine segment at Foodex as well as promote ProWein to a greater global audience.

“With the ProWein & Champagne Lounge at Foodex we will approach our visitors in Japan directly, showing them the wide range of options they have at ProWein, the leading trade fair for wines and spirits,” Marius Berlemann, global head wine & spirits and director of ProWein said.

“Champagne is a good starting point – an ‘appetiser’, as it were – for the world’s most important industry event on wines and spirits.”
