Exhibition brand Vinexpo is continuing to expand its reach, this time with a new event in Paris.
Following successful shows in Hong Kong and Tokyo, and a New York edition due to launch next year, Vinexpo has been looking back to its country of birth for a second French date.
Organisers have now announced that the event will take place in the French capital at the Paris Convention Centre (Porte de Versailles) between the 13 and 15 January 2020.
Its January date will make Vinexpo Paris the first in the Vinexpo calendar, which will professionals to “plan ahead and schedule purchasing” according to CEO Guillaume Deglise.
The brand also has made some changes to its flagship Bordeaux show, which began back in 1981.
The 2019 event is being brought forward by about four weeks from its usual June date in order to escape heatwaves which have put a strain on returning exhibitor and visitors numbers.
The 2019 show will take place from the 13 to 16 May at its usual location at the Bordeaux Exhibition Centre.
Vinexpo has been on a mission to “strengthen our brand as a strategic partner in the wine and spirits sector” lately.
While the inaugural New York show in March 2018 is the first in the Americas, Vinexpo Paris aims to focus on targeting buyers from Europe in particular, which still consumes over 60% of the world’s wine.
