Banrock's garden of Eden

Published:  23 July, 2008

Constellation's Australian wine brand, Banrock Station, has announced it is teaming up with The Eden Project, the Cornish visitor attraction and environmental initiative.

The brand - which markets itself as environmentally friendly, providing funding for the preservation of Australian wetlands and other projects throughout the world - will get a Banrock Station Good Garden feature' inside the famous bio-dome. The feature aims to highlight the positive impact good gardening practice can have on the environment', and will open this summer with a focus on environmentally friendly barbecuing practices, including the use of eco-friendly charcoal'.

According to a spokesman, the initiative will be supported by an integrated marketing campaign featuring national radio advertising, consumer sampling on railway station concourses and in-store promotional activity'.

Banrock's wetlands manager, Tony Sharley, commented: Modern gardening practices can put a huge strain on the environment, which in turn can lead to the destruction of plant species and affect ecosystems on both local and global levels. A partnership with The Eden Project, which hosts over a million visitors a year, is the ideal way to communicate Banrock Station's environmentally friendly messages to the UK consumer.'

Since its launch in 1996, Banrock Station has helped 54 environmental projects world-wide, contributing over 1 million through donations from bottles sold.
