Vignobles André Lurton joins Daniel Lambert Wines and Theatre of Wine in the UK

Published:  22 February, 2017

Family winery Vignobles André Lurton has appointed Daniel Lambert Wines and Theatre of Wine as its UK distributors with immediate effect.

Wholesaler and importer Theatre of Wine, which also owns three shops in London, has taken on the on-trade distribution across London and the South East for the French wine producer, while Daniel Lambert Wines will be looking after the off-trade category nationally.

André Lurton's portfolio fitted "very well" with Lambert's existing agencies from around the world, said founder Daniel Lambert, adding it would also complement Lambert's "high profile properties" in the Bordeaux region, which include Cru Classé Sauternes producer Chateau Filhot.

Lambert currently imports wines from family growers in France, Spain, Italy, New Zealand, South Africa, USA and Austria.

Theatre of Wine has, since starting out as a retailer in 2002, grown its on-trade distribution network to include some of the finest restaurants, retailers and wine bars, it said.

A major producer of Entre-Deux-Mers and Pessac-Léognan, Vignobles André Lurton recently introduced a range of wine specifically adapted for the on-trade.

Its properties comprise Chateau Couhins-Lurton Cru Classé de Graves, Chateau La Louviere, Chateau Bonnet, Chateau de Cruzeau, Chateau de Rochemorin, Chateau de Barbe-Blanche, Chateau Coucheroy, Chateau Guibon and Château Grossombre.
