Constellation Europe launches celebrity wine brand

Constellation Europe's Stowells, one of the UK's top 5 wine brands, has teamed up with former Emmerdale TV star and Hell's Kitchen runner-up, Adele Silva. Adele has produced her own limited edition Stowells wines as part of a campaign to help demystify wine for female consumers and drive awareness of the brand.

A celebrity-created blend for a major wine brand is a first for the UK wine industry. With the help of Constellation's Master of Wine, Philip Goodband, Adele has blended two new wines for Stowells, a French Merlot Cabernet and an Italian Pinot Grigio Chardonnay.

This new initiative has been captured in an Internet TV series, Mistress of the Vine. The series allows viewers to share Adele's adventures as she travels to France and Italy and is taught the basics of wine and how to blend her own range by Philip Goodband.

Adele's Stowells wines will be available exclusively in Thresher stores from 3rd September. Clare Griffiths, VP of European Consumer Marketing for Constellation Europe, comments: "Adele is a great ambassador for Stowells as she is approachable, down-to-earth and reflects the brand's personality. The Mistress of the Vine series will help demystify wine and allow Stowells to connect with its core audience of routiners - routine wine buyers - online where they spend much of their time. The series will drive sales of these limited edition wines at Threshers and serve to raise awareness of the whole Stowells range amongst target consumers."

French Merlot Cabernet (£4.46 or 3 for £11)
A mix of soft juicy fruit Merlot blended with a strong blackcurrant Cabernet and a touch of toasted oak makes up this delicious wine.
Adele recommends: "You will love this wine whilst enjoying tapas or your favourite cheese."

Italian Pinot Grigio Chardonnay (£4.46 or 3 for £11)
Hints of apple and citrus make up this refreshing wine.

Adele recommends: "Enjoy this wine with creamy pasta or on its own; deliciously refreshing on a hot day."
