M Restaurant group is looking to add a third site called M SOCIAL as well as expand the use of the some of the current space at the M Threadneedle site and plans to finance the expansion by raising £1.5m on the Seedrs crowd-funding platform.
The crowdfunding campaign is set to kick off on Monday 3 October 2016.
Founder and chief executive officer of the M restaurant Martin Williams said:"When we created M we made aspirational dining accessible - now it seems the right time to fund our expansion through a crowd funding platform that makes investing accessible too"
The money will be used to set up third site called M Social- Twickenham. The Twickenham site is a new flexible 100 cover space in a Butlers Wharf style building that has riverside views, an outside terrace and sits directly opposite the mainline station. M Social- Twickenham is looking to open in May 2017.
M Social will look to have two sites and the venues will be more casual, offer lower price points and be outside of central London.
Additionally some of the funds will be used to expand the Threadneedle Street location and use the downstairs space which is currently a coat check and has a private dining room space in a much larger M-Den private members lounge, which has been hugely successful at M Victoria location.
"Interest around the M brand and our campaign has been phenomenal- I am confident when we launch on Monday we will have raised seven figures in a few days," said Williams.
For the crowdfunding campaign to move forward the company needs to raise a minimum of £1.35m, with shares costing £200 each.
M restaurant group current has a number of investors including Marisa Drew, retired footballer Andy Cole, Richard Fitzgerald and Thomas Kato. The Board of M recently added two new members: Mike Xenakis, who left his position as managing director of Europe at Opentable in July and Annabel Schild a start-up investor and entrepreneur.
