Wine supplier Ehrmanns has inked a UK distribution deal with Western Australian winery Willow Bridge Estate across both the on- and the off-trade.
Founded in 1996 by Jeff and Vicki Dewar, Willow Bridge is located in the Ferguson Valley adjacent to the Margaret River wine region.
The estate has some 60ha of vineyards under vine at elevations of between 230m and 280m.
Key varietals planted include Chardonnay, Chenin Blanc, Shiraz and Merlot, together with smaller parcels of Viognier and Tempranillo.
It produces wines under the Black Dog and Dragonfly Series brands, among others.
James Halliday rated Willow Bridge Estate a five-star winery in his 2015 Australian Wine Companion. "Many of its wines offer exceptional value for money," he said.
Mark Chapman, chief executive of Ehrmanns, said: "We are delighted to announce this partnership and believe Willow Bridge Estate fits perfectly into our growing Australian portfolio of family-owned wineries, which includes Angove Family Winemakers, a five-star winery from the Mclaren Vale.
"We are highly impressed with Jeff and Vicki's vision and drive, the quality of the wines and their commitment to preserving the eco system of the Ferguson Valley.
"We look forward to bringing their critically acclaimed wines to a wider UK audience."
Jeff Dewar commented: "We are looking forward to joining forces with Ehrmanns and have been impressed by their understanding of this highly competitive but nonetheless, key market for us.
"They are a family owned company and like us appreciate the importance of commitment and investment in order to achieve your goals."
The partnership begins on January 1, 2016, and Ehrmanns will be showcasing the Willow Bridge Estate wines at its portfolio tastings on February 9 in London and February 11 in Manchester.
Founded in 1875, Ehrmanns now has a supply base of over 30 family-owned wineries from 15 countries worldwide.
