Bottle Green to merge into Kingsland following acquisition

Published:  27 August, 2015

Wine agency supplier Bottle Green is to be merged into Kingsland Drinks, the company that bought the business in April.

The integration will see the combined business operate from Kingsland's headquarters in Irlam, Manchester, and the whole company trade as Kingsland Drinks.

Kingsland said it aimed to have the combined business operating solely from Manchester by the end of the year. The Bottle Green office at Leeds will operate through the transition.

Bottle Green managing director Jon Eagle is staying with the business but his exact role has not yet been revealed.

Andy Sagar will remain as Kingsland managing director.

Bottle Green commercial director Adam Marshall and wine director Nick Butler are also staying with the merged company.

Sagar said the decision to integrate the businesses had been made to give staff, suppliers and customers a single point of focus and contact.

He said: "The integration of Bottle Green represents a key stage in Kingsland Drinks' journey to be the leading premier independent supplier of wines and spirits to the UK, specialising in providing a total category solution.

"This integration of Bottle Green brings together Kingsland's existing expertise in manufacturing, supply chain, bulk sourcing and marketing with Bottle Green's sales, producer relations and winemaking know-how.

"Whilst we had originally intended to grow this aspect of the business organically, the opportunity to purchase Bottle Green allows Kingsland to realise our goal far quicker than expected.

"The newly combined business will offer the breadth of service necessary to survive in an increasingly challenging industry.

"Our enhanced team will provide continuity for producer partners and customers alike and I am pleased that Jon Eagle, Nick Butler and Adam Marshall will be joining the executive of the combined business".
