Selfridges wine and spirits buyer Dawn Davies will be joining Speciality Drinks as head buyer, a report in Harpers Wine & Spirit's sister title Off Licence News has revealed.
Davies resigned from her post at the department store last month, as revealed by harpers.co.uk but has remained tight-lipped about her next move.
She joins the distribution company, which also owns the Whisky Exchange retailer, in September after nine years with Selfridges.
During her time there Selfridges has won a series of industry accolades, including a string of Off Licence News Drinks Retailing Awards for her pioneering approach.
She also oversaw a complete overhaul of the drinks department, including a move to a larger site in the retailer's flagship London store.
She gained respect from across the trade for her lobbying efforts, helping to successfully prevent authorities banning in-store sampling.
Davies said: "After having worked with Speciality Drinks for the past nine years I have become a massive admirer of everything they do.
"I always said if I left Selfridges, the one company I could see myself working for would be them. I cannot wait to join the team and embark on my next adventure."
Speciality Drinks, which is owned by Rajbir and Sukhinder Singh, said it had doubled in size over the past five years, adding: "Dawn coming on board will only further accelerate future expansion plans for the next few years."
